Business Development & Resources The Canmore Economic Development Authority (CEDA) in partnership with Community Futures Centre West, are your local resources for new business development & counseling. Located upstairs in the Canmore Senior’s Centre, our offices are open daily to meet with you, provide materials or referrals to the expertise you require. Canmore Economic Development Authority (CEDA) aims to achieve a balanced environment for sustainable economic development in Canmore. CEDA supports existing business through established and strong communications, the CEDA e-News, monthly networking Business on the Bow Breakfast Forums, Build A Better Business Lunch Speaker Series. CEDA also works on diversifying Canmore’s economy, currently focusing on the health & wellness sector as well as working on a long-term labour strategy in partnership with business & community. This body, representative of business, government, culture & environment, provides policy advice to Town Council on matters of economic development and coordinates development of business and trade in Canmore. Membership is open to all individuals and organizations interested in the preservation, creation, and proliferation of cultural expression. In large part, it is the many working artists who express the culture of Canmore and give it new meaning. The foundation’s goal is to be collective voice for the arts community and with that voice celebrate and facilitate the development of the arts BOWDA - Bow Valley Builders & Developers Association is a non-profit organization that represents the interests of the land and real estate development industry on a national, provincial and municipal level. 8139 The Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley is dedicated to providing information on sources of ecological, social, and economic issues pertinent to Canmore and the surrounding ecosystems. The Biosphere Institute was project manager for the community project The Natural Step To A Sustainable Canmore (in partnership with CEDA and the Town of Canmore) and has now launched The Bow Valley Sustainability Hub. The Institute also has a database of information on reference sources for issues such as human population growth, resource consumption, general development and housing. The Biosphere Institute has made available three Fact Sheets: Eco-Facts for Businesses, which provides information on waste/recycling/reuse for Canmore businesses; Eco-Facts For the Bow Valley Tourism Industry; and Selected Eco-Facts for Business Planning. Suite 201, 600 9th St. The Canmore Job Resource Centre works in partnership with Human Resources Canada and Alberta Advanced Education and Career Development, to offer services to assist Albertans in planning their career and employment directions.
