One of Canmore’s biggest accomplishments in 2003 was the Sport Tourism Proposal created by CEDA for the Town of Canmore.

This proposal was instrumental in getting upper-level politicians to sit up and take notice of possible economic returns in upgrading Canmore recreational facilities.

By using conservative estimates in our Canmore Tourism Economic Impact Model, CEDA was able to prove a minimum $13 million return on investment over a three-year period and has resulted in receiving $16.5 million towards the Canmore Nordic Centre approvals, announced in July, 2004. 

This proposal is still being used to support requests for funding essential upgrades to the Canmore Recreation Centre.
